Delta Pi 25th Anniversary Celebration

Thirteen gentlemen decided to embark on an adventure that would change their lives, as well as many young gentlemen when they decided not to join any of the other fraternities on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University and start up their own. With intense research, these gentlemen decided that the Chi Phi Fraternity was the best fit for them. Now we are months away from celebrating our chapter’s 25th anniversary of our founding. Please mark your calendars for Friday, June 3rd & Saturday, June 4th of 2022, for a weekend of reflecting, bonding, and entertainment.

WHAT DOES THE WEEKEND LOOK LIKE?

Check your emails and the Alumni Facebook page for updates!

Friday, June 3rd

6PM until shutdown – Meet and Greet at Cypress Grill: Hang out with everyone and catch up at the bar and grill just down the hill from the hotel. Cypress usually has live music playing as well.

Saturday, June 4th

11AM - Noon – Older vs. Younger Flag Football Game (Optional): Somewhat of a Delta Pi tradition, we’ll be pitting Actives and some of the more recent Alumni against the more seasoned guys in a game of flag football. This will be hosted on the intramural field at GSW.

Lunch: For those in Americus suggestions include: Monroe's Hot Dogs, Pat's Place, 1800 Mexican Restaurant, La Haciendia Mexican Restaurant, Sweet Georgia Baking Company. For those that stay at Lake Blackshear suggestions include the two restaurants on site: Cordelia's restaurant and Cypress Grill. The Cove is also very close by.

1PM -5PM – Free Time: We’ll be splitting off and everyone can go enjoy the park and surrounding areas for a few hours. If you’re not familiar with the state park and The Marina there are a few options around. 1) Golf: 18-hole golf course with plenty of amenities and clubhouse, 2) Boat Rentals (First Come, First Served with Reservations on website): Rent boats by the hour or with a half-day option to go out on the lake for the day, 3) Lakeside Beach: The park has a carved-out beach area for public use. Plenty of sand and sun for the day, 4) Travel to Americus: We’re planning to have a group of people going to Americus for a few hours to see the chapter house. For any wives or partners coming, Wolf Creek Vineyard has also recently opened a wine-tasting bar at the Windsor hotel that we can look into if anyone is interested.

6PM – Cocktail Hour: We’ll be doing a pre-dinner meetup and chance for everyone to talk before we begin.

7PM – Dinner and Presentations: Dinner will be a filet of beef and chicken and a side of potatoes. Cash bar and presentations to follow. We’ll be going over a range of topics like chapter house improvements and scholarship development.
